Although it is worth saying that this was 20 years ago, so I’m hoping that this has changed for people dealing with M.E. ![]() I quickly realised that the NHS at the time had no answers for me and could offer little support. This is an absolute vital skill when you are a parent but more importantly when you are a sleepless parent. I know when I can push myself just a little further and when I definitely need to rest. I now know where my “stop” or “pace” line is. This lesson has given me one of my biggest strengths to date. I can see similarities with this and parenting.Īlthough this was at least a 10 year lesson and making many mistakes which delayed my recovery, such as walking too many steps in one day or drinking 1 glass of wine and being sick the following day. I could no longer do the things I loved and basically that stripped me of my whole identity. I suddenly had to learn when to stop and how to “spend” my new limited energy. I remember hating this phrase with a passion. If you have suffered or are suffering with M.E., you may have been advised by health care professionals to pace yourself. Here are 5 positive lessons that M.E has taught me and how they help me to with the sleepless nights as a parent. The main difference is I see it as affecting my life for the good. It took me 10 very up and down years to recover, but that’s not to say it doesn’t affect me now. I decided to ignore this prognosis and took matters in my own hands. Whilst there are varying degrees of M.E., each person experiences different symptoms and severity. Obviously this is not the official definition, you can find that here. ![]() For me, this was the hardest transition to make, as I had to give up the things I loved and which I excelled at.įor those that are not aware of M.E or CFS, I can describe it as having a permanent or long lasting glandular fever, coupled with the flu mixed with the worst hangover ever. Never did I think that I would be battling the illness for a further 10 years if my life.īefore the days of lying in bed in agony, I was the teenager who was full of life and energy, playing various sports at a competitive level. on anyone, I can now say that having M.E has helped me to cope with the sleepless nights associated with parenting.Īt the time of diagnosis, I knew nothing about what it meant but after a year or two of constantly being unwell, feeling exhausted, recurrent infections, enduring many blood tests, the GP gave me the diagnosis of M.E.

Second, players will find that the limited munitions may become a problem during longer engagements, as the Assault Raptors lose their offensive advantage.About This Content Never in the history of the Twelve Colonies have so many sacrificed so much. While fighters will engage the next closest target, Raptors require a manual order to re-engage. First, unlike fighter craft, the raptor will immediately return to base (whichever capital ship it launched from) after executing its current mission. There are two significant shortcomings of the Assault Raptor. The Atlas, in particular, is useful for adding squadrons to bolster a fleet for air superiority and can add three squadrons to a fleet. Once nuclear warheads become available, this pairing becomes devastating to even the largest enemy units, as the Assault Raptor can paint, then soften the armor using a rocket attack, and then use the Manticore to launch a near sure-fire hit with a nuke.Īlternately, an Assault Raptor group can work effectively in packs of four or more when using the target-painting ability and their innate rocket attack. If paired with escorts, pairing an Assault Raptor with a Manticore is ideal as the Raptors can intercept enemy fighter squadrons and paint enemy capital ships to increase effectiveness of the fleet and the Manticore's firepower. The main exception is Cylon gunships, such as the Cerastes and Revenant-class ships, as they have substantial anti-squadron ballistic firepower, and the 'paint target' orders effectively command the Raptor to orbit within their lethal range. Players are encouraged to use Assault Raptors, once available, in this capacity and reserve Viper Mk I and Viper Mk II units for anti-fighter activities, as they have greater success and suitability against other fighters. Combined with Taipan units, the Assault Raptor can do significant persistent damage with its rockets, and even eliminate smaller enemy craft, such as the Nemesis or Talon within a few turns. In conjunction with firepower from battlestar escorts and ranged weaponry, the assault raptor can help soften targets and allow friendly units more effective fire while closing the distance to targets. ![]() When attached to a battlestar, the assault raptor essentially acts as the first line of defense for the larger, slower vessels. In spite of their slower speed, Assault Raptors excel on scouting details, where their target-painting abilities increase hit percentages for distant targets. As such, they are a versatile squadron unit choice. The latter, in particular, increase the overall hit percentages of ballistic, guided, and unguided munitions. In addition to carrying heavier rockets for use against enemy capital ships, Assault Raptors have the ability to fire on enemy squadrons and paint targets for munition strikes. The Assault Raptor swaps out the electronic warfare suite, troop transport, and munition disarming abilities of the standard Raptor ECM in favor of additional scouting, enemy squadron engagement, and direct fire capabilities. The external rocket pods on these ships are capable of providing significant anti-capital support. Specific scenes to watch for and marvel over include the rainstorm and the ice chutes. The colors come vivid and loud with some seriously lush blues and tube-busting whites. Ice Age is essentially free from any sort of compression artifacting as it was pulled directly from the digital animation files. ![]() I'm not saying Ice Age copied or stole from these films (these films typically develop over a four year cycle), it's just that there is not a lot here other than the smooth animation to keep you interested mainly because you can see every twist coming a mile away. There is also some Shrek-like antics with Sid showing a similarity to Donkey and Manny the Mammoth (big huge loner) matching Shrek himself. Adding a bit more ammo to this argument is the similarity of one of the key plot points to Monsters Inc.: a human baby needs to be reunited with her parents. You know the drill: different characters thrust together in the face of an obstacle form friendship bonds and triumph. Yes of course it is original to set the film during the ice age (we've never been there before) but the film stalls out on the story, a tired formula bracing much of the animated films coming out these days. Ice Age ultimately suffers from some of the same story problems that plague the latter installments in certain action franchises: unoriginality. autoĪuto overflow is very similar to the scroll value, only it solves the problem of getting scrollbars when you don’t need them. Note: In OS X Lion, when scrollbars are set to only show when being used, scroll behaves more like auto, in that only needed scrollbars will show up. IOS’ momentum scrolling can be enabled for this value with -webkit-overflow-scrolling. Of note with this value is that you get BOTH horizontal and vertical scrollbars no matter what, even if the content requires only one or the other. Setting the overflow value of a box to scroll will hide the content from rendering outside the box, but will offer scrollbars to scroll the interior of the box to view the content. So for example a user has their default font size set larger than you would expect, you may be pushing text outside of a box and hiding it completely from their view. However, bear in mind that content that is hidden in this way is utterly inaccessible (short of viewing the source). This is particularly useful in use with dynamic content and the possibility of an overflow causing serious layout problems. This literally hides any content that extends beyond the box. The opposite of the default visible is hidden. Generally, you shouldn’t be setting static heights on boxes with web text in them anyway, so it shouldn’t come up. The important thing to remember here is that even though the content is visible outside of the box, that content does not affect the flow of the page. So in general, there is no reason to explicitly set this property to visible unless you are overriding it from being set elsewhere. If you don’t set the overflow property at all, the default is visible. ![]() Overflow comes into play more commonly when explicit widths and heights are set and it would be undesirable for any content to spill out, or when scrolling is explicitly being avoided. Unless a height is set, text will just push an element taller as well. Remember that text will naturally wrap at the end of an element (unless white-space is changed) so text will rarely be the cause of overflow. inherit: sets the overflow to the value of its parent element.initial: uses the default value which is visible.auto: if the content proceeds outside its box then that content will be hidden whilst a scroll bar should be visible for users to read the rest of the content. This can be used with overflow-clip-margin to set the clipped area. clip: content is clipped when it proceeds outside its box.scroll: similar to hidden except users will be able to scroll through the hidden content.hidden: overflowing content will be hidden. This is the default value of the property visible: content is not clipped when it proceeds outside its box. 1/16/2024 0 Comments Tonny tony chopper![]() You can also follow us on Spiel Anime, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.Boku wa DOCTOR TONY TONY CHOPPER!
